How do I create a mailing list?
You can import existing mailing lists from programs like Outlook, ACT, ClientBase, or Goldmine. Adding to and editing your lists is easy. If you have a website, an interface can be added to allow people to subscribe to your newsletter. You can even set it up so that new subscribers will automatically receive a welcome message.

Can I send a message to only some of my subscribers?
Yes. You can set up an unlimited number of mailing lists, and can choose to send any message that you create to one or more lists.

Who appears as the sender of the email?
You do. You specify the “from name” when setting up each mailing list, so you can use your name, your company name, or whatever you choose.

What if an email address I send to is no longer valid?
Bounced messages (from invalid email addresses) will be automatically handled. greatBIGnews will keep track of the number of bounced emails in a mailing list.

What happens to bounced email?
Bounced messages are automatically filtered and processed by greatBIGnews. After four "hard" bounces (like an invalid email address) the subscriber is automatically removed from the list.

If a customer replies to the email, where is the reply sent?
You can designate any email address you choose as the “reply-to” address.

What if my subscribers use text-only email?
greatBIGnews will automatically detect whether your subscribers can display text or HTML. If they can only see text, they will receive a link to display your message as a web page.

What do I need to use greatBIGnews?
You will need Internet access and an email address. Windows users require an Intel Pentium II (or equivalent) 300MHz processor or faster, Microsoft Windows 98 SE, Me, 2000, or XP, Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or later, 64 MB available RAM, and 50 MB of available disk space. Mac users require Apple Power Mac G3 or higher, Apple Mac OS X 10.1.5, 10.2.5 or later, 10.3, 128 MB available RAM, and 60 MB of available disk space.

Do I need my own website to use greatBIGnews?
No, although greatBIGnews does integrate well with websites. If you are interested in establishing a website, you should check out our sister site PointAndEdit.

How much does greatBIGnews cost?
There is a one-time setup fee, and a reasonable monthly subscription fee. See our pricing page for more information.

Am I locked into a long term contract?
Not at all. Should you choose to stop using greatBIGnews, we would require only 30 days notice. You can then download your mailing lists from our server.
